Heatherfur padded warily to the Dark Woods, shaken by her exhaustion. She had been up all night, it seemed, twisting and turning in the warriors' den, and she didn't even know why. The trees suddenly got thicker as she went farther down the path, and the sunlight suddenly ceased when Heatherfur crossed into the official Dark Woods. The breeze ruffled her ears and shook the trees gingerly, and she heard the faint fluttering of birds overhead. Eventually the path thinned out and became part of the forest floor, and Heatherfur settled herself down by the base of a tree, yawning tiredly. She closed her eyes, but they quickly re-opened when she heard a soft breath muttering in her ear. Immediately, she rose to her paws, expecting to find a cat behind her, whispering in her ear and laughing at how frightened it made her. All she saw was black shadows and thick vegatation surrounding her. Scanning the clearing swiftly, she decided it was a blustery type day and was probably just the wind...and then all the sudden, she wished she was not alone in the dark...

Alone... Or was he. He was attempting to escape the ignorance of the others in the camp. Was it that even? Or maybe it was all the stress. Or was he looking for herbs? Nothing sounded right anymore.
But he wasn't alone. Though he'd been in the darkness of the forest for some time, he still couldn't see well in it, he was a ThunderClan cat, after all. But there was a figure in the distance. ThunderClan, due to smell. The exact scent he couldn't figure out - moreso didn't care to do so. The cat in the distance probably was as ignorant as the rest.
But maybe they weren't. There was a slight chance they weren't. He didn't care to sneak up on the figure, or even try to look graceful. He limped towards the figure, stopping about a tail-length before he could reach the cat. With his reputation seeming to spiral downwards, he wouldn't be surprised if he was attacked.
He noticed the cat immediately. "Heatherfur...?" he asked, hoping his question would be answered ... in a peaceful manner.

Heatherfur's eyes flashed open, and suddenly her exhaustion seemed to fade. She was sure she heard her name being said into the air, breaking the barrier of silence that made the air heavy. Confirming her suspicions that she was not alone, she scented ThunderClan ahead of her. She squinted to see who was there, and the cat who accompanied her was obvious to see, it was Mossface, the ThunderClan medicine cat. Heatherfur had never really had a conversation with her medicine cat, she never really paid attention to him, but now that it was just her and him, she wished she had before. But she was alone, and something in the air was making her sorrowful, and instead of resenting Mossface's presence, she considered herself lucky to have it. "Mossface?" Heatherfur stifled a half-hearted mrrow of laughter, and added, "I'm sorry...you took me by surprise. I thought I was alone. What are you doing here?" She wondered if she should move closer to him, but didn't move in case Mossface preferred to make this confrantation brief. She didn't want to be annoying.

Maybe not so alone after all... "Sorry to have startled you..." Mossface said, trying to to show his almost obvious frustration. "I was here to... be alone, away from our leader's ignorance." he spat, as if he didn't even care to mention Lakestar's name... as if it had very little importance or meaning to it. "No matter what I say to him, he refuses to believe me. Sure his love died... but that doesn't give him an excuse to ignore StarClan's signs!". Mossface hissed, his fur spiking up, his blue eyes glaring with firey wrath. His claws lay unsheathed now, as took out his wrath on the forest floor, digging into the earth deep, as if trying to kill an enemy. "I can't stand it anymore. Even ShadowClan would listen, yet Lakestar cannot. His ignorance tires me immensely.". Mossface then looked Heatherfur directly in the eye, "Or perhaps I'm just annoying you, and I should leave." all attributes of anger were gone from his body, and he seemed upset with himself for holding a temper like an impatient apprentice.

As Heatherfur listened to her well respected medicine cat vent to her, or, as it sounded like, half to himself, she felt a multitude of different emotions, someone within herself and other because they were unavoidable because they were so intense coming from Mossface. She felt sympathy for her medicine cat, baffled that Lakestar seemed to ignore Mossface's warnings and attempts to help him. For the same reason, she also felt frustration throb through her paws, and because it was so obvious how strongly he felt about all this, she wanted the next words out of her mouth to somehow help ease this mood he was in. But she simply nodded and mewed, "Mossface, Lakestar knows you are full of wisdom. I don't know why he wouldn't listen to you, despite how he is hurting from his loss...someone needs to make him realize that the past needs to stay there." She shifted uncomfortably, she wondered if she had rambled on too much, yet she added, "And you're not bothering me." She flicked her ears, waiting to hear her medicine cat's response.

Time to Stop Ramblimg On... Mossface mumbled, "Some never move on from their past..." he looked back at his own leg, which he would never use to it's fullest. "We have to move on... I'm nearly convinced I must contact another leader in order for ThunderClan to survive.". "I will do it if he continues to ignore me, I swear upon it.". As if done venting, he then asked his own question. "So, why are you here?" he looked at Heatherfur and tilted his head with question. Though his mind kept tormenting him with questions, he had to stop venting... it made him look like a coward. Resorting to other clans for help... that made him look bad. Or did it? That was only more questioning brought to mind, more torment, a cycle constantly repeating itself. He shook his head, looking Heatherfur straight in the eye.

Heatherfur felt a sharp jab of guilt pang her heart as Mossface pointed out his handicapped leg, and she regretted what she had said. She lashed her tail, and something, but she didn't know what, seemed to prick at her pelt. But she answered Mossface, despite this sudden irritation that came from nowhere. "Me? I don't know. I felt tired, and alittle frustrated, so I came here because...I thought it might change my mood or something." She sifted through the leaves with unsheathed claws, wishing getting rid of her private worries would be as easy as ripping through dead leaves like that. "You really would go to another Clan for help if Lakestar doesn't listen to you?" She tried to imagine herself doing the same, but couldn't imagine it. Surprise grasped her-would she be as dedicated to helping her Clan as Mossface said he would be? Heatherfur swallowed her panic, why was she feeling so intensely about these minor emotions? She blinked.

Or would I... "I would really go to another clan. These signs are important, I don't know if their medicine cats have recieved it or not, and I doubt I can wait until the next half moon..." Mossface twitched. "I'm sworn to the duty of StarClan, over all others. Not that I didn't... use to follow Lakestar... he's just insane now. He's leading himself to his own death.". "But it's not like I care.... At random, he changed the subject, returning to a medicine cat's stereotypical attitude. "Why are you tired and frustrated?", he asked, his tone serious, as if it were a life-threatening condition.

Heatherfur hesitantly raised her paw and gingerly ran her tongue over it. "I don't know, Mossface..." She silently debated whether she should confide in her medicine cat, after all, they never really had spoken before, and she didn't know if she could trust him with anything, but something seemed very honest and true about this cat. She continued to stifle the same "umm"s and "well"s.

Does it matter...? Mossface shrugged. "You don't have to know. No one has to know anything anymore...". He sighed, shaking his head. "Can I -only- talk about how ignorant Lakestar is!? Perhaps that is the truth, for even StarClan can't stop him on his road to destruction...". Once again, his hair was on it's ends and he clawed the ground. "You probably have something to speak out, if you do, say it.", he agained changed the subject at random.
